Change the way you see the world, change the world you see.

Moonbow

[‘moon - boh]

Noun

A meteorological phenomenon in which the Sun's light is reflected off the Moon and refracted by water particles in the air, creating what is also known as a Lunar Rainbow. Moonbows sometimes appear as white light to the naked eye, but through a photographic lens - a shift of perspective - one can see the full-color spectrum.

What it means to us.

Moonbow sits at the intersection of four disciplines — each one a different angle on the same questions: why do people do what they do, and what does it take to lead with that understanding?

Science. Applied behavior analysis and organizational behavior management. The rigorous study of why behavior happens and what environments produce it.

Service. Twenty years across The Ritz-Carlton, 1 Hotels, and independent luxury properties. The craft of building cultures where standards hold because the environment makes them hold — not because someone is watching.

Nature. Biomimicry and ecological thinking. Living systems have been solving the problems organizations keep recreating. The principles transfer exactly.

Presence. The gap between stimulus and response. The quality of a leader's attention is an environmental variable — one of the most powerful, and the least discussed.

Not a consultancy. A platform.

Moonbow is where the thinking lives — essays on behavioral leadership, workshops for teams and organizations, and occasional direct collaboration with leaders who want to go deeper.

Built for leaders who summit peaks to chase sunsets.

What we do.

Essays. Published weekly — rigorous, readable writing on behavioral science, organizational culture, and what it actually takes to lead well.

Workshops. Sessions for leadership teams that translate behavioral science into the language of operators. Built around real scenarios, not slides.

Direct engagement. Occasional collaboration with organizations and leaders on culture design, pre-opening work, and behavioral strategy. Selective and specific.

Who we are.

Matthew Kiner. Twenty years in luxury hospitality leadership— The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, 1 Hotels & Homes, and independent luxury properties. Educated and trained in leadership, quality, and applied behavior analysis and organizational behavior management. Ever inquisitive. Founder of Moonbow Movement.

Moonbow is the platform. The thinking is a product of our environments.

What we believe.

Most organizations are moving faster than their awareness. The gap between intention and impact — in leadership, in culture, in the moments that define a team — is where the real work lives.

We believe most organizations can do better by their people. We believe behavior follows design, not intention. We believe Nature provides the most logical roadmap for how systems actually work. And we believe that leaders who understand their environment can change it.

Who this is for.

Leaders who sense there is more to understand than what the standard playbook offers.

Operations leaders, hospitality professionals, HR directors, and anyone responsible for building a culture that holds when no one is watching.
